Schedule for the day.........

Playing,
Talking,
Writing,
Homework,
General togetherness......

How much time do you spend a day doing any/all of the above with your child/ren?? My friends spends hours a day doing ALL the above with her son, but she only has ds - how much difference do you feel it makes if you have 2+ children????

Surely you can only do what you can amongst all the other things life demands such as cleaning cooking etc?? I think its just as important for children to learn that housework has to be done cos that prepares them for their own independence and also its something which you can do together in a jolly way with music etc.??? Writing can be writing shoping lists and talking about making food is talking together etc etc.
Thats just what I think though!

Agree with Manuka...I probably do everything on the list, but include it as part of everyday life, although we do usually have "alphabet" and "storytime" as seperate through the day, as well as bed time story. We count the dishes, we look for lettters/words/things on shopping trips,writing lists, sorting out toys/clothes, we go to the library. The older two help out with little tasks and we chat as we go along...silly songs come up through the day! It's amazing how much you teach your kids just by living a normal life and talking to them. I never saw it, til one of my childless friends pointed out what I was doing. Doing it like this is easier when there are 3 of them, it's second nature, not scheduled as such and feels right for me.

well mine is 7 1/2 mths and my only child (so far!)

We play after his morning nap.
I talk to him alot- all kind of nonsense.
We play when DP gets home (we all crawl round on the floor being silly etc)
We read to him every night after his bath.

My house could be alot cleaner, but it's not so bad

My mother maintains it's just as easy with 2 young ones, especially when the older one can help with games / changing etc.
