Group conversations at 9?

Kids were bought an iPad from their uncle, dd (9) going in to year 5 has been chatting to friends via text messages which I don't have a problem with as I read what they say to each other and its fine but she's been added to a class group chat and I hate it, full of weird drama and older siblings posting strange things. I told her she wasn't allowed to be in any group chats and removed her but people keep adding her back in.
Is it a case of her having to delete herself from the group every time it is there a way I can block it?
Or do I just do an all out ban from texting any friends at all?

Anyone got any advice or had any experience of this?

Is it whatsapp group chat or another app?
Some apps you can control settings like block senders

Banning the device or app altogether won't work as it'll provoke her to want it even more maybe

iMessage, she’s not to pushed about the group ones now the initial flurry of 693 messages from her friends appeared! She is fairly sensible I just impress on her that people may not be who she thinks and that I will monitor all messages.
