Hi, my little boy is due to have his adenoids removed in 3 weeks at alder hey due to obstructive sleep apnea. I am absolutely terrified about him not waking up after the anaesthetic & something happening to him he just seems so little to be put to sleep! Does anyone have any positive experiences? Tia xx

My ds who is nearly 8 had adenoids and tonsils both removed when he was 1 also because of obstructive sleep apnea and he was fine! Operation is quick and his recovery also was quick. They will give you info at the hospital as I think there is a certain amount of days post op that there's risk of infection or bleeding (can't remember) but we had no issues at all. He slept a lot better very quickly! I'm sure your DC will be fine! Relay your concerns to the hospital, any questions you may have etc
