Hi All,

I have a DS who is 22 months and a DD at 4 weeks, the problem is that DS has taken to hitting dd everytime he is near her, I have made sure i spend lots of one on one time with him, getting him to help out at feeding, changing time etc so that he does not feel left out, in fact i would say he gets much more attention than dd but nothing i have tried will get him to stop, its at a point where i cant leave the room for a minute if they are both there (he hits her, shakes her crib, pulls her arm etc).

One minute hes cuddling her going awww baby the next hitting out, ive tried shouting, ignoring, moving him away, distraction etc, someone please tell me this isnt going to last forever!!

It won't last forever . I was lucky in that dd accepted ds very easily but she was nearly 3 years old when I had ds.

Guessing your DS is just frustrated because baby isn't talking back to him? I had that a few times when taking kids to see friends where the 3 year old kept complaining that ds is rude because he doesn't answer her he's 2.4 and not very communicative yet

Hope somebody comes along with some advise for you.
