Normal bedtimes

What is a reasonable bed time for a nearly 8 year old? Some of his friends go at 7:30, others don't go until 10pm and then there's a few that go when they feel like it!

I used to put my 6 year old to bed at 7pm and my eldest at 8pm but this slowly crept up to 9pm which alot of people seem to think is too late for his age.

So what time do yours go to bed?

I can hear my 6 year old still arguing with his dad about going to bed, at 20 past 10.....I think it depends on the child, some need more sleep than others, but anything past 9pm is too late on a school night, IMHO.

my 7yr old 8:30 but could do with going at 8:00.

my 10yr old 9:00 and he gets up fine.

Depends a lot on when you need to get them up for school, I have freinds who put kids to bed about 7pm and wonder why they get up at 6am every morning . We are 5 mins from school so no need to be up too early.
