Tell me about your routine

Hi all

DD is 8 months and we've had a pretty solid routine since the early days. Quiet time, bath, dressed, lullaby/rocking, sleep. Since around 6 months she's been able to mostly get herself to sleep never at nap time though with just a few trips back in the room from us. First slept through at 6 months and has done about 40% of the time since.
We're going to start her in the big bath in a few days and want to start adding in a bed time story soon too but not sure when.
When did you start your DC on a story? Or at this age will it just wake her up more?

Thanks!

We started stories at about 5 months and definitely by 8 months both dc had a favourite book.

We do
6.15 bath
6.30 out and get dressed
6.35 settle down on a pile of cushions in dc's room with books and milk
6.45 cuddles
6.50 into cot and leave the room dc to self settle.

That sounds lovely! Especially the pile of cushions! Will definately introduce the story book this week Smile

Don't overthink this. Babies/children are remarkably flexible. If you want to read her a book then do it and don't worry too much if it will overstimulate her (it most probably won't) and it's not like you are planning to have a rave in her bedroom 5mins before bed. She will adjust to the change quickly if she notices it at all.
