Tips for outings for ds just starting toilet training

He seems to be getting the hang of it - in the house with a bare bottom. He can go for up to 2 hours without needing a pee- but sometimes only an hour.
Have a Sunday morning arrangement for badminton, swimming and lunch at the gps. ds will go happily onto a potty but v. reluctant to go to toilet.
What do you do for wees when out and about - dh doing it all tomorrow btw!
Plus ds will be with his 6 cousins - so lost of carrying on and not much concentration.

tommee tipee do a disposable potty and liner system thing - a potty frame which you line with one of their liners which look like a nappy bag with a sanitary towel stuck in it. It took us a little while to persuade ds1 to use it, in retrospect we should have had a practise in the house first, but now he is quite happy and will use it in the boot whenever there is an emergency (which there often is!!!)

Also take some spare clothes.

TooTicky · 27/01/2007 20:48

Or carry an ordinary potty. It's bulky but it won't be for long and the familiar security can be wonderful in an urgent situation.
Oh, and some more spare clothes

Sorry to butt in but.....
My ds has been training for 2weeks and hardly any accidents so is pretty much all done but he stands up now and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a folding stool from as he cannot reach while we are out bless him.x

AllBuggiedOut · 29/01/2007 23:43

Stand behind him and get him to stand on your feet, mum2oliver!

Wimped out of the trip in the end. Spent the day bare bottomed again! Mucho success on that front. Wees and poos.
Not so go good on the poo front tho when dressed!

He did his first pee in the woods yesterday while out for a walk!

Have got some piddle pads off ebay for the car seats.
