5 year old with nightmares

I'm really hoping someone can give me some advice, my 5 year old son was involved in an accident on Sat which left him with a bloody nose and sore lip, ever since he has been up and down at night every hour or so with nightmares. He wont tell us about the nightmares in any detail. The biggest problem is now all day he's on the verge of tears all the time, even at school, he's not himself at all, barely eating or talking which isn't like him at all. Please any advice we be greatly appreciated!!!!!

I have an anxious DS who sometimes has nightmares.

In your situation I'd ask if he'd lie a blow up bed on the floor of our room for a few nights. Or I'd sleep in with him. Being that scared must be awful. It's not a persistent problem so first thing is reassurance and comfort.
