First birthday cake ideas?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas ir recipes for first birthday cakes , I would like to keep it healthy abit of a treat is fine though, would love to try a smash cake would appreciate any help as im clueless also have no idea what kind of food to layout for him and any guests any help would be great

It's a birthday cake. It won't be healthy!

Even a classic sponge would be healthier than shop-bought, since it won't have the additives. And at 1 they really don't eat that big a piece!

But if you want lower sugar/lower fat a banana cake like this is pretty healthy:

Or else a strawberry cake looks very impressive (this recipe has the normal amount of sugar, but less butter):

Whatever you go for, lots of icing is mandatory! Grin
