2 year old (25 months) doesn't jump or talk or walk

Hello all,

I am getting very worried. My 25 month old daughter doesn't jump or talk or walks very little.
(1) Talking - she can only say 10 words at the max and doesn't speak much. She mostly communicates with expressions or takes my by hand to the kitchen to tell me she is hungry.
(2) Walking - she hardly walks and always wants to be carried around. She is getting heavier and we cant hold her everytime. If she walks, she walks with toes pointing inwards.
(3) Running - whenever she runs, she runs in sort-of an uncontrollable fashion. I mean the jog/run is mostly uncontrolled momentum. Its never controlled or properly coordinated.
(4) Jumping - her daycare lady told us the other day that she doesn't jump.
(5) Cycling - we got her a tricycle but she doesn't even cycle.

I am getting very concerned - thank you so much for understanding. Did anyone or you know anyone who went through it? It looks like these things are somehow related and not leading to a good place but is it too soon for a kid to do all these? Or am I fretting for no reason?

It's worth getting a paediatric assessment. Your GP or HV can make the referral.

I would make an appointment with your GP to ask for a referral to a Paediatric Consultant for assessment.

My GP doesnt think its something to worry about but looking at other kids around I think there is something to worry about...

So you've taken her to the GP already?

user have you researched the skills online? being able to pedal is listed as a milestone for age 3.
uncoordinated running and jumping seems to be the norm for 2 year olds the skill takes time to refine.
the in-toe or out-toe seems to be considered normal till age 3 again it has something to do with the bones and the child's position in utero.
do speak to your physician but doing a quick google isn't a bad idea either.

User do you talk to your DD? If so, does she have any verbal response back?

My dd was same but prob talked ok, now 3.5 and does not stop running and jumping and still likes being carried or in buggy.. . I worried about same things. Just encourage and let her go at her pace, all different. 😀
