Places to visit for vehicle obsessed son?

Hello everyone,

I work in a school so will be off soon for the summer holidays. Our son will be 2 in November and he is mad about vehicles. Loves watching cars, loves waiting for a train at the station, obsessed with buses etc you get the idea!

We were wondering if there are any places to visit or events that anyone knows of? We live near Margate in Kent. We do drive.

Do you have a local steam fair? Ours is great and has classic cars/old working vehicles watch as well as the steam powered stuff.

Brooklands Museum is fab. Also, if you're in Kent, presumably you already know about Diggerland?

London transport museum in Covent Garden is great for vehicle loving children! Plus your tickets last for a year once you've bought them so even better.

Country shows often have a classic car section. There are likely to be several in Kent over the summer.

The Bluebell Railway? There's another little narrow gauge railway near Swanley too I think.

Duxford is a bit far but would probably blow his mind.

If you go to London, then you will need to have a ride on the Docklands Light Railway.
They're driverless, so you can sit at the front and pretend to drive.
In fact you could go and tick off a load of modes of transport quite easily, incl boat, cable car etc.

Yy to county shows. There will be tractors aplenty.
