i know this sounds ridiculous but i am absolutly baffled as to what to do for my ds. he is going to be 6 and over the years he has had a variety of parties. tea parties at home , in a hall with bouncy castles and at a jungle gym. i am expecting my second ds in 2 weeks and dont particularly want a party at home with a newborn around. do any of you have suggestions.
thanks in advance

How about bowling? My ds is 6 in March and thats what he wants to do. It also means you dont have to invite too many children if you want to keep it easy. Most bowling places do party packages.

We had a "Purple Party" for my dd. Purple invites, drinks, balloons etc. Don't know if yr ds would prefer a different colour, but it added to the entertainment that all the kids (and adults) dressed in purple.
Apart from the one highly precocious girl (sp?) that turned up in yellow...

Lst year for ds1 we got the local hall booked, and did a party with loads of arts and crafts stuff from baker ross. Woked well, this year for ds2 (not much of a gap LOL) we are having (31st is his birthday) a Brewsters party as I',m not up to hosting atm, a pyjama party for a touch of novelty.

brewsters = very easy, just turn up, watch, go home again.

thanks very much for the suggestions. he likes the bowling idea best and wants me to take him to a theme park.

last year i wasnt impressed with the party package at the local jungle gym it was incredibly over priced and the food was awful.

i like the hall idea too but worried about filling it and would still have to arrange the food. normally thrive when challenged but am stuggling at the mo.

thanks so much
