Is this the start of chicken pox??

My DS has suddenly got a few spots on his belly do you think its chicken pox or just a rash?

It doesn't look particularly pox like to me yet. But it might be just the start.

I hope you're right he's only 8mths old but its only appeared this morning

No I don't think so. Fairly sure my ds has got it today and he started this morning with bigger spots, already a bit blister like and they've been erupting all day . Does he have a temperature?

Not in my experience. Both of mine started with one, large red spot, which looked like a sore patch, and then blistered.

No he's just a bit clingy now thinking it may be a rash because i put a new romper suit on him before it had been washed

My DD has just gotten over chicken pox, they started off as a few fluid filled blisters that rapidly spread over a couple of days. Looks more rash like in your picture.
