Traveling without my children

Hi, I am married and have two kids (3 and 6) and I have never gone from them even for one single day. I live oceans apart from my family (parents and brothers) and I really want to visit them, but can't take my kids because of health issues (would be too long to explain).
I bought tickets to fly and see my family for 9 days, kids will stay with their dad.
I was so excited to go but I suddenly freak out thinking I will stay away from them for so many days.
Have any of you traveled without the kids? How did it feel for you? Was that a bad idea to go alone? Freakin out right now. Confused

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think it's a good idea, your dc will be with their dad and will be fine!

How old are your kids, Ragwort?

Completely Envy at Ragwort now! My two both have chicken pox so I'm drowning in a sea of Calamine lotion and Callow, dreaming of being somewhere else!!

Mine are 4 and 2 and I've travelled away for work a number of times for 10 days or so. Missed them but they actually had a great time with dad while I was away - few nights going out for a pizza - lots of extra bedtime stories etc. Being on what's app helped too so dp could send me lots of pics and videos so I could see all was well and they were having a jolly time!
Enjoy your time away from them and the time with your family - they will be fine and actually I think it's good for them to see mom has an independent life away from them. But you'll be expected to bring home lots of presents!!!

Go, it will all be fine.

I've done three or four nights without mine. This year they're going for 14 nights with their dad - am part looking forward to it, part dreading it!

Thanks ladies. For me it's part paradise, part torture. Great to hear how you deal with that. 😊
