It all means Dear/Darling which is weird and confusing if you ask me especially of its a post about "darling husband" having an affair or "dear son" been a brat Hmm MN is an alternate world

LilySnape · 30/06/2016 05:39

If you go on google and type in mumsnet acronyms they have a list theres bloody hundreds of them, why they cant just say what they actually mean and take an extra 0.2 seconds doing so i dont know.

doesntmatterwhoyouare · 30/06/2016 06:42

What's esp weird is you aren't allowed to.use text speak as its lazy and 'no one' except people outside mn understands it. But the irony of the mn shorthand is missed it seems.
Personally as I'm old if I have to learn a set of acronyms I'd rather we could all use the same instead of having to learn a special list for mn and then a diff set for everywhere else.

Lilysnap I'm laughing it's so true we must think the same about this!!
Thank you all glad I'm not the only one who thinks its a bit out there!! Lol
