I don't think DS2 is really ready for potty training, and I am not up for a struggle with him.

That being said, he always pees if I can convince him to go on the loo, but he's very stubborn, so it only happens once a day or so.

He's taken to removing his nappy. Mostly, he does it at night, or first thing in the morning - he rips the tab off on one side.

Thankfully, he has a huge bladder (as is normal in this family) so he's dry in the morning, but if he stays in bed, pees a bit, well, it's a lot of laundry to do.

He's still in a cot, so toilet training won't help, anyway.

I've tried making him wear pj bottoms, which at least maybe keeps the nappy in place if he rips one side. (If he's up and about, the nappy turns into a very large anklet, which doesn't bother him at all, and I only notice when he wets himself.)

I'm trying pull-ups tonight, in the belief that maybe he's ripping it off trying to get good access to his willy, so maybe pull-ups will solve the problem? (Also they're harder to rip on the side. I hope.)

What else can I do?

i have to put dd in a poppered vest and trousers or she used to get her nappy off and play with her poo. She will only wee on a potty, can be dry for a while throughout the day, and then will have a turd in her knickers which must feel awful, but like you, I'm not going to push her, she was only 2 today.

The nappy stayed on!

I don't really own poppered vests over age 2, and don't feel like buying any, but will if I have to.

DS2 doesn't play with his poo (thank god!), just takes off his nappy.

I suspect the pull-ups aren't as good at containing poo, as DS2 had an alarming ankles to neck sort of poo this morning, and it was truly horrific.

DS1 had a hard time with the pooing thing, I think we promised a Big Reward for pooing in the pot - a trip to a laundromat! Which he really appreciated.
