Toddler bed nightmare!

Today is our 2.5 year old DS's 1st night in a 'big boy bed' and he's been crying for an hour and keeps asking us to come in every 5 mins or so. Could he be frightened or just playing us up? Hes always gone to bed absolutely fine with no issues whatsoever. The dramatic change is a bit shocking and i can only put it down to the new bed. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you x

Hope you got through the night! My son was so excited to go into his bed that he missed his nap. It is a big change for them. If it happens again, I would sit with him while he settles down because he's not going to be like it for many nights. Also do you have his old mattress on the floor (from the cot?). For when (if) he falls out of bed!!

Thank you...yes we got through the night fine. Once he was asleep he was asleep for the night. No falling out or 2am visits! Lol. What threw me the most was that he waz suoer excited too!! He couldn't wait to get in it...but it was was about 10 minutes after i'd left the room when the hysterics started. He was much better at bedtime this evening but still some tears and unsettledness. Like you said, i think its just a change for him.

My DS has been in his big boy bed for a week now. The first night he was a bit unsettled too but after that he's been fine!
He has fallen out twice but it hasn't put him off... hes proud of his big boy bed.
