Moving house and nursery - 2 year old transistion

I'm going to be moving house with my Husband and then 2 year old little girl in August. Although I'm excited to be moving to our forever house I'm also very sad.

My daughter loves her nursery (as do I, its amazing) and I'm dreading finding her one that will measure up. She's going to be so sad and confused as she,s so happy there. She also plays with hour next door neighbors little girl as they were born within 2 weeks of each other and have grown up together. They are very close for almost 2 year olds! Does anyone have any advice about easing the transition for us all. My heart is breaking, about her going through this.

We just moved with our 3 yr old a couple of months ago. Like you, I was very sad to leave and really worried how ds would cope. He is a child that struggles with change. We actually spent a couple of weekends decorating before moving in which really helped him get used to our new home. Since we have moved ds has not asked for his old nursery or home once. We made it priority to have all his toys and bed unpacked first and he has absolutely fine.

Our dc are more resilient than we think. If you can try to arrange visits to the house before moving day and keep all your dd's belongings with you when you are moving so you are able to set it out for her to use it will be ok.

We have just upped and moved 2.9yo DD to another country. We explain everything to her a lot so she can get used to the idea. She has mentioned her old nursery and her 'best friend' a couple of times (which has tugged at my heartstrings a bit) but she has been absolutely fine - happy, playing, sociable. Taking it all in her stride.

Interestingly, she spent a couple of days role-playing her nursery which she had never done before - I think it was her way of processing it.
