Chicken pox and school run? Help

My two year old Ds just came down with chicken pox. I knew it would be likely as eight were off in his class recently. DD 4 has already had and tomo she is back at school! My husband is away on a trip until Tuesday afternoon. Spots appeared yesterday so he is prob going to be at worst tomo! My question is what do I do about the 40 min school run?! I don't have a car so we walk there in back w stroller or scooter and whole trip takes 40 mins. Can I take him? Or should I email class to see if someone can help me? I'm planning to arrange a nanny to help w pick up.

I would email and ask for help. Do any other parents live near you?
Will your husband be able to take her after Tuesday? (Because if so make that clear, it's easier to commit to a couple of days rather than indefinite.)
I would also phone anyone for whom it wouldn't be much trouble eg. Those who live close or who pass your house on their way to school.

I wouldn't take him, he'll be poorly and uncomfortable.
Is there another school run mun/dad you could ask for help. Emailing the class seems sensible, Im sure someone will help out. Any families with two or more will have had to figure out this juggle.

Yes, will email the class now. That's what I thought, but wanted to ask so I'm not sounding dramatic sending an email to entire class. I am not sure who might be able to help bc only two live near that I know. Cross fingers someone can!

When dd had chicken pox the school let me drop ds2 off on the car park so I could avoid the playground. I kept her in the buggy and took back paths etc to avoid being near anyone.

It'll depend how unwell the 2 year old feels - when mine had it at that age they were fine in themselves, just spotty and itchy. As long as you make sure there is absolutely no contact with any other child - so keep him strapped in a pushchair, and a quick dump and run with the 4 year old. Is that possible?

How about if he is feeling up to the journey, take him and pop a raincover over the buggy just outside school so he doesn't come into contact with anyone?

I have two people who volunteered thank goodness! My son goes nuts if I force him in buggy for entire trip. So don't want to do it if Indian have to! Thanks all for the feedback!

My attitude was, if I couldn't repay the favour to those who helped me, I could definitely "pay it on" to someone in need sometime. And you do need "community" help with young children.
Eg. Taking one to school and second has a tantrum because we forgot her teddy which she has to take to nursery - a fellow parent I spotted willingly took my eldest to school for me, so I could deal with the younger one.

Yes, community help def makes such a difference. I am so thankful! I will def try to offer back help in the future!
