fathers never there now he's sick

My mum called and left a voicemail stating my father is sick in hospital however
He's never been there for me.
He makes promises and breaks them always.

When I had my son, marriage, graduation , new house he did not attend all visit.
He never has the time.

I'm fed up I just don't know how to tell my mum.
Any advice!

My dad was the same. Never there from when i was small till his time came. When he was taken ill i had a phone call on the night time off the hospital saying i needed to go asap. I sat there and thought about it and thought do you know what im going to be the bigger person here. It was the last time i saw him. All the thoughts from the times he let me down running through my head as he took his last breath. Im glad i went....i learnt more about myself in that few hours than i have all my life. Good luck in whatever you decide.. You will make the right decision for you.
