Ear wax in 3yo

Ds is almost 3, I have noticed a couple of times he seems prone to waxy ears, usually when he has a bad cold. It seems to have built up again and is fairly visible, should I just leave it or is it worth a nurse/doctors appointment? He doesn't seem bothered by it but can it cause hearing problems if left ?

From experience don't do anything bit of olive oil and clean just the outside not inside the ear. My boy had to have his sucked out as was effecting his hearing in one ear but didn't do this until was in school much better now but was advised to use olive oil every day just few drops a night Smile
