So my 5 week old is feeding every 2-3hours sometimes less and he's taking 3-4oz at a time. Is this too much? Seems like he's always feeding ConfusedConfused

Anyone else babies the same?

Feeding every 2-3 hours wouldn't seem like always feeding to me! That sounds like quite a big gap so maybe he's taking more to compensate. How's his growth been?

A baby will never eat too much so don't worry.Mine was taking ages to eat and comfort and then she'll cry for more in 45 min, couldn't do anything lol,she was breasted though. but a too learned is normal, they grow a lot in the first months and they need the calories. 2,3 hours seems an on gap

Might be on a bit of a growth spurt........

Completely agree with Florentina, you can never over feed a baby

My LO still feeds every 2-3 hours at almost 5 months, with more frequent feeds in the morning. That seems about right to me.

Seems normal based on my experience.

In fact my DS ate every 2 hours at that age

ODog · 15/05/2016 21:09

Seems at the very good end of normal to me.

Sounds great. DC1 fed every 3 hours on the dot day and night for 10 weeks. DC2 every 2.5 hours for the first 5 months. I was knackered and he was huge! He still has a massive appetite!

Yep- 5 weeks is often a bit of a growth spurt!

My 5 week old is taking 5oz bottles - last week was every 4 hours, this week is every 1.5-3 hours.
