We are currently in the process of recruiting our first au pair to help with before / after school care for our eldest DC (the other will stay in full time nursery), and I'm hoping for some sage advice on how to choose an au pair that fits with our family (we are using an agency), and on how to make it work once she starts. I've heard great things, and total horror stories, and am keen to avoid the latter!
