When did you first give them a McDonald's?

I never had one until I was 5 but see kids much younger eating at McDonald's. Just wondered what others do really and what your opinion is on it.

Can't remember TBH. We had a McD's very close by so we go once in a while if the toys are particularly good - my son loves Minions so we went a few times when they were on.

Like PP, my kids eat home-cooked meals most of the time, get their five a day, aren't given sweets or fizzy drinks. They have milk and fruit with whatever burger/nuggets they want when they have a Happy Meal, I don't see it as a big deal. My eldest is mostly vegetarian by his own choice, they both eat well. Everything has its place in moderation.

Ds is 2.5 years and has yet to have his first Happy Meal......or Greggs sausage roll in a bag in his buggy! We don't really go there and wouldn't make a point of going for him. I don't think it's that bad though really, you can get fruit, water and chips without salt now so it's not a big deal. I agree with pp about the snobbery, I know parents who will happily share a Costa muffin with their, really quite young babies but would baulk at a happy meal.

Ds1 was probably about 3 or 4 ds3 was 11m 🙈we was on holiday tho so I justify myself that normal rules don't apply. As long as it's not every night then I don't see a problem with it now and again
