Hi
My ds is 7 months old and loving weaning. At the moment I make sure we are home for his three meals a day but this is quite restrictive. What food/ snacks do you take out and about to give you more freedom? What do you use that doesn't need to be refrigerated?

If you are doing purées then the odd ouch or jar isn't going to hurt. If blw then just give him a bit of what you are eating out and about.

Snacks wise rice cakes, cheese sticks, breadsticks, raisins, bananas, satsuma segments etc are all good.

Get out and about with your weaning baby, being tied to the house for meals (or naps or anything else) would have driven me mad!

At 7 months I took something like an avocado, some Cubes cheese, some chopped fruit. Then just gave them a combination of that, a bit of what I was eating plus milk still.
They can have hot meal at breakfast or dinner

If I have to take food for DS (10 months) then I usually take some cheese, ham, crackers, chopped up fruit, things I can spoon feed like yoghurt or mashed potato etc (although he's got a bit messy for them recently as he wants to feed himself so maybe I'll keep those for home) He won't eat any of those pouches of puréed food, except for sweet fruit ones, so I keep some of them in my bag for emergencies. I have a little cool bag for his perishable food.

Even at 10 months his milk is more important than his food, so as long as he drinks his bottle I do t worry too much if he won't eat as much food out as he does at home
