I am due to take a trip overseas with my 14 month old in a couple of weeks on my own to see a friend. I have done one trip on my own with him when he was much smaller and not so mobile and it was fine. I hate to say it but I am absolutely dreading the journey! My son is very mobile (walking/running/climbing), energetic and erm spirited! Keeping him fairly static and entertained is going to be some challenge! The flight is 4 hours long and I have booked a separate seat for him. I am now thinking what have I done!

Give me all your top tips please. I would love to see it has an lovely opportunity to spend exciting time away with my son rather than dreading it - or is it something to be endured?

Thanks

Food! When I flew with my son of a similar age he jus ate Cheerios all the way. Then he had some beans and then he had some more Cheerios. Then we landed.

We had lots of little toys and books to lay with but they didnMt really get a look in.

Craft Pom poms in a tub with a small hole in the lid kept my DD entertained at a similar age. Second lots of snacks.

Snacks here too at that age! I've flown a lot with DD (still under two) and it gets a little more challenging every time as she wants to move around more but plenty of little toys/books, snacks (raisins were our face at 14 months, also agree with Cheerios!). And an iPad for if they melt down and just need distracting. Buying a seat is good and will make the whole thing a lot easier so you'll be fine!
