so tell me, why exactly would you open a thread like this?

OP posts:

LOL! I thought I was a bad parent because I sent my DSD to school with torn stockings! DSD put her toes purposely through because she wanted to wear her socks instead (FYI - DSD goes to private school).

What a hilarious and educational thread!

thephin - I am a bad parent too because I noticed over Christmas hols that dd's hem had come down on her school tunic. I repaired it tonight

Madora · 18/01/2007 09:31

cruisemum - sorry but you have just failed the bad parent test - you MENDED it! Tut, you are just not lazy enough to make the grade! The really bad parent would have just pulled the rest of the hem down so it was all equal length..

Hey check out the Primary thread "Am I the worst parent?" It is hilarious!

Sugarmagnolia · 18/01/2007 10:32

wheresthevalium - my DS loves Home and Away - I don't let him watch NickJr until it's finished.

SurvivingTheTerrbileTwos · 19/01/2007 15:28

I am a bad parent because my DS (nearly 3) will sigh, shrug his shoulders and say 'ferfuckssakes' in a perfect imitation of me at my best in the mornings.
AND
when in the car driving will gleefully shout out 'fannybaws' at anyone who cuts in front of us.

thephin · 19/01/2007 18:56

psml! 'fannybaws'! I have to remember that one next time I am out and about driving. I hope it is better than saying a**hole..

essanel · 19/01/2007 19:29

I'm a bad parent cos I didn't have time to iron dd t-shirt for nursery so i told her she couldn't take her fleece top off

Madora · 22/01/2007 10:02

You iron T-shirts! I don't iron any of my childrens' clothes - what's the point? Do they care? And think of all the extra sleep you could have instead of ironing! You are just not lazy enough - could try harder..

SurvivingTheTerrbileTwos · 22/01/2007 10:21

thephin -

fannybaws definately better than saying a**hooe but not quite the language you would wish to hear from an almost 3 yr old. Very Glaswegian phrase but certainly gets the point across especially when accompanied by wild gesticulating!!!!!

TT

thephin · 22/01/2007 16:04

Ironing: the first time my DSD came to live with me, she demanded I iron her cargo pants... I asked her if her mom irons her clothes for her to which she replied "no". I then showed her where the iron and ironing board was located.

Who irons cargo pants?!

anorak · 23/01/2007 08:42

I can answer that question before I've even read the thread, twig.

Morningpaper told me to

Okay, off to start reading from the other end...

Sugarmagnolia · 23/01/2007 11:45

Ok, I'm not a native but I've lived in Glasgow nearly 9 years now and have never heard fannybaws (my friends and family are obviously much more refined!).

so what does it mean????

SurvivingTheTerrbileTwos · 24/01/2007 14:21

Fannybaws - i'm not quite sure of the meaning but i think its something along the lines of you are a cross between a twat & dick?

I could be worng though!!
