I know this is debatable with some people saying from 1-5 is sleeping through the night but my ds was put to bed at about 8ish and is still asleep. he normally wakes up at 4 for a feed. also I normally give him a dream feed about half 10 but the past two nights I've been that tired I've fell asleep before then and he hasn't woken up for one.

so instead of enjoying my unbroken sleep I'm up shocked he has slept all night :O

DD about 4 months old

DS is 4 months and no sign of being ready to go through night yet.

Both were in co sleeper in bed and both formula fed at this stage

Ahappynewmummy · 27/04/2016 05:41

well he's just woken up haha.

ds was born 8lbs and at 14 weeks he's about 15lbs so a big baby. he's on between 6-7oz of formula too. I had it in my head that I'd be having sleepless nights till he's 6-7months old.

DS 2 years old.

DD 9 days old.

Both breastfed, co-sleeping babies.

Slept through the night for the first time at 2 months.

Didn't exactly make a habit of it, though - I'm still waiting for the second time, two years later...

Eminybob · 27/04/2016 06:32

I think DS was around 8 or 9 months before he was sleeping through consistantly. He may have had a one off or two before then.

It's so random though. I know of babies doing it at weeks old and some not until age 4 or whenever

cuntinghomicidalcardigan · 27/04/2016 06:32

Still waiting at 18 mo...

LastAnni · 27/04/2016 06:53

3.11 years. Yep, he's an only child. Not going that again!

bruffin · 27/04/2016 06:58

Both dc at 12 weeks

MyBreadIsEggy · 27/04/2016 06:59

Dd slept 7pm-6:30am consistently from about 8.5 months old.

About 18mo but it's still a rarity and he's almost 2

CakeAndChocolate · 27/04/2016 07:09

DS slept through at about 16/17 weeks for about a week. I was lulled into a false sense of security, sleep went to shit after that and he didn't sleep through again until just before he turned 2.

DD about 6 weeks but then started waking up again a month later. Slept through regularly from about 18-20 months.

DS1 went from 10 until 6 from two weeks old. Then we moved when he was just two and he woke up nearly every night until he was 6.

DS2 was about 14 months. We kept him in our room because he was waking but dC4 was due so we moved him and he slept through.

DS3 slept for the first week of his life. No exaggeration, he had to go to SCBU and then children's ward as he wouldn't wake to feed. He would have slept all night once home but I set an alarm to wake him and feed him to keep his blood sugar up. He still slep 6 hour a night. Even at 2 he could nap from 1-4 then still go to bed a 7 and wake at 8 the next morning. He has had some unsettled nights since he started nursery last September.

Ds was 6 months. I'm still waiting for dd, she's 3.5yrs.

uhoh2016 · 27/04/2016 07:53

Probably about 8 weeks sleeping 9-6

ImogenTubbs · 27/04/2016 07:54

DD is 2.8yo and I can count the number of times she's slept through on two hands. The first time was at about four months though. I got excited. I shouldn't have done.

mrsmeerkat · 27/04/2016 08:01

The first was five months - we put him into his own room and that did the trick.

Second was 14 months when we put him in with ds1 but it was out own fault. We should have been firmer on no bottle earlier.

Ahappynewmummy · 27/04/2016 08:10

he's been sleeping from 7 till 4 for about 4 weeks now with his 10:30 dream feed but for the last two nights he's slept all the way through.

my partner laughed at me when I told him I automatically woke up at 4 expecting him to be up for a feed.

Dd was 6 weeks, sleeping 11-7.
Ds was 14 months.

Miffyandme · 27/04/2016 08:43

OP, enjoy it whilst it lasts (it may continue, it may not). Either way, don't obsess about sleep too much.

JuxtapositionRecords · 27/04/2016 08:49

The rule of thumb is never, ever declare publicly that your baby has slept through because as soon as you do it will bite you in the backside Grin

elQuintoConyo · 27/04/2016 09:09

2.8yo here. 11pm-8am. Now it is 9.30pm-8am and he sleeps like a dream at 4.4yo. He had terrible colic as a tiddler so we are very very grateful that he sleeps well, we know others his age that wake 2-3 times a night.

On the odd occasion he wakes in the night for a wee, he comes into our room, right up to my face and whispers "i've got pee pee!" scaring the bejeezus put of me Grin

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 27/04/2016 09:14

Dd1 is 6 and still doesn't sleep all night. She either sorts herself out and goes back to sleep or comes into bed with me for a cuddle, which I secretly quite like. The first 3 years were awful though, the child would not sleep!

Which is why I don't feel too bad saying dd2 is 15 weeks and has been sleeping through for about a month. She goes down about 9 and wakes up around 7. I feel like it's a miracle Grin
