Hi all, I am looking for any tips regarding ear wax.

Back ground

I have noticed over the past few months my 12 mo ds holds his ears a lot and shakes his head, I have spoken to health visitor and doctor and am waiting for audiology referral to come though.

Anyway the past day or so I've noticed a build up of wax, I always rinse and soap etc out of his ears in the bath and dry the outer ear and behind and he was folds behind them with cotton wool buds ( not inner ear and told to do this by doctor due to the fold behind his ears so they don't get sore)

Is there anything I an do to help ease the wax build up until the referral arrives?

You could use olive oil from chemist. Drop a few drops in, pop a wee bit cotton wool in to stop it leaking out. Twice a day I think, any wax build up will break up and start coming out.
Doc advised this for our 5yo when he started going a bit deaf
