night time nappies

Hi! Dd1, 2.6, been potty trained since Christmas and doing really well, now wakes 5 times a night crying to tell us she's either weed in her nappy, or that she needs to use the potty. Mostly she comes to visit us with her freshly removed nappy in her hand. Any advice or help? We have a 6 month old as well so are exhausted anyway and this is just a bit too much! Pull ups don't seem to be absorbant enough to last the whole night, so she is in night nappies. She is also having night terrors which I think are related. Please help!

Can she use the potty on her own if it's in the bedroom with her? A nightlight and potty wipes should be enough then... Sounds like she's had enough of nappies.
BUT I know nothing as mine is still in pull ups at night which are soaking in the morning!

hot and bothered - which pull ups do you use and do they leak?

It sounds as though your night nappy is'nt absorbant enough, and it's the wetness that keeps waking her up. Pull ups can't cope with the job. I'd recommend a terry nappy kite folded, with a second nappy insert. It may be a bit bulky, but it will cope with the wee, and probably sort out the night terrors.

cane - we now use drynights. They're 4-7 year olds and don't leak which is great. They're the only ones we found which have enough capacity for our incredible wee-er

Cane, My DD is 3 and we have had the same problem as you - we have been using Pull ups - but they are not absorbant enough and I am fed up of changing the bed! - I have just changed to Dry Nights this weekend - and so far - no leaks at all!

are you using pull ups (with graphics) or pampers easy ups?

if pull ups, they have very very little absorbency. just designed for little accidents when potty training.
