Broken cupboard to tip today, eldest in floods of tears at tip, he was not happy at all. Left cupboard at tip, son not forgiven me. Cupboard wasn't his in particular nor nothing special, but my boy is so sentimental over objects. If I had realised he would be distressed, I would have dealt with the said cupboard in the twilight hours, as thankfully items don't tend to be missed.
Just asking fellow mums of sentimental little ones any advice?
Boxes, paper, even one time a change in my handbag, anything can prevoke an attachment if he's aware of a possible imminent disposal. Wouldn't dare suggest toys. Little sister complete opposite, during this week's spring clean she even gave me a barbie doll saying she doesn't play with it anymore!
Feeling guilty, normally can chat with him so rationally but this area leaves me confuddled!
