tight waistbands on babies

I have seen a lot of people on here mention waistbands aren't great on babies because they can be uncomfortable and cause trapped wind. At what stage do they become ok? Sitting, crawling, walking, when starting to potty train?

I've never experienced that, my son could fart for England! He was probably wearing waist band from 3 months but never tight. I would expect the trousers to fall down with any pulling. In fact that can be a problem when they crawl.

My 18 month old is usually in dungarees because he is tall and skinny. Anything with a waist band tight enough to stay up seems to make his nappies leak! Dungarees also don't leave cold gaps Smile
