How old when they understand 'NO'?

ds2 is 8.5 months and knows his name, but when will he understand no?

dunno dd2 is 20 months and certainly says 'no' to me and I think she understands it when I say it to her but she doesn't take any noitice of it

dd could understand it at 10 months but grew out of obeying it not long after

now she's almost 2 and every question is answered with a sigh and a mournful 'nooooo'

agree with pinktulips. They understand it pretty damn early. Take great pleasure in disobeying. Even babies and toddlers need their vices.

dd is 15 omths and she understands put the baby (her dolly amd not that bad) in the cot and put that down and pass this and that but when it comes to "no" she has selective hearing

DS is 9mths and stayed at GPS for two nights while we went away bad parents that we are.

Well I don't know how they did it but DS goes nowhere near the DVD or video recorder now due to my mums loud and consistent use of the word NO. He just laughed at me before when I said NO but now he seems to understand. Must be some older generation magic thing.
