Sick when laying down

Just wondering what I can do (if anything)..
My LO is 2.5 weeks old and only throws up when she is laying down/sleeping.
I wind her during and after every feed. She brings up big burps (usually more than one) during & after each feed and also does some impressive farts.

She is never sick straight after a feed. It's usually an hour or 2 after she finishes her feed (last feed finished at 6:45 and just sick now at 8:05). I worry as during the night I can't keep a watchful eye all night, although I do try and stay up for about an hour after each feed to check she isn't sick, so may not always catch her being sick and I'm worried that she may choke on her milk sick. Anyone else have this with their LO? If so, what did you do?

Have you tried elevating what she's sleeping in?? My daughter has her Moses basket stand on two hardback books to give it a slight angle. I find for her it means the milk (and snot) stays in her tummy.
I've no experience of reflux but maybe you should ask your hv about that??

Sounds like reflux. We had this with out dd2, as previous poster mentioned keep one end of cot/crib/Moses basket elevated and keep in a more upright position on you for about 15 mins after a feed at night before putting back down. If it gets too bad you can get gaviscon prescribed from the dr or try an anti reflux milk. Don't worry about choking on sick, they naturally turn their heads to the side when being sick and if like my dd most sleep with their heads turned one way or another rarely facing upright all night xx

Thank you for your replies. I have looked up reflux but she doesn't appear to be in any pain. Can it still be reflux? I will try keeping her in an elevated position for a while after she has eaten. I have also read that giving her smaller feeds may help also if it is reflux

It could still be reflux as the pain seemed to peak for my dd around 4 weeks old. Before that she was sick a lot and I thought it was normal then she started fussing in the evenings. I did some research and tried the anti reflux formula. The thing with this milk is its thicker so it stays in the Timmy better. If it isn't reflux the milk is still an option to try if you get worried as it doesn't need prescribing and is safe for all babies. You could have s chat with a hv and see what they say :)

I'm going to try the anti reflux milk. I am having some success with keeping her feeds smaller and keeping her upright after her feeds.
I will also speak to my HV (although my friend had her as her HV and wouldn't really help/discuss the reflux issue with her baby)
I'm registering her at the Drs tomorrow so if HV doesn't help I will speak to Drs I suppose..

My DD does this (4.5 weeks). Dr won't do anything yet. I too am going to try the anti-reflux milk. She also has a lot of wind and is very wriggly and unsettled.

I have found taking her feeds down to 90ml and feeding more often has helped. Tried her on 120ml (as per the formula instructions) and she was sick again.
Still doesn't appear to be in pain so it's either reflux or small stomach still!
