nearly 5 year old suddenly started wetting herself

DD is nearly 5. In the last 2 weeks she has wet herself twice at school and once at home. I think she is just being lazy and not wanting to go to the toilet and miss out on what ever she is doing.

Is this quite normal, I have spoken to her about it and have enquired as to whether she had felt it etc or whether she could have an infection, but it just seems she was being lazy.

She was out of nappies shortly after her 2nd birthday. And has been dry ever since (not necessarily always at night).

Any tips?

Dd 6yo did the same, easiest to toilet train, never any accidents, then before Christmas had two weeks of accidents, no 1 and 2s, ended up taking her for a cup of tea and cake, chat about any school issues etc. But problem was really just that she was too busy, didn't want to listen to her body, so good chat about staying clean, hygienic, healthy, looking after body, getting the bad stuff out before she gets poorly, others might start to notice and say something etc. We put a pair of pants in her bedroom to remind her, everyday getting a sticker on the pants, had one more accident, she cleaned it up, reminded of our chat and that was that, phew!. Also think that it was the end of a very long term at school so possibly tired as well.
