help and advice 15 month old and still having daytime bottles

is this ok she has a morning one of 9oz and then one before dinner and tea of 6 oz and then another 9oz one before bed. she still has all her meal and shes not massive, she's actually quite small if you go on how her clothes fit her for the age group
she also doesn;t drink a lot during the day i know this is probably to with all the bloody milk (at this rate i will have to buy a cow and put it in the back garden)
was worried though because isn't it bad for their teeth
unfortunately i have bought her various types of cup but she can't figure out how to make the juice etc come out of them, she can use a normal grown up cup and thoses fruitshoot style cups but now the tommee tippee or the advent ones that they have to suck
what should i do

Are you worried about the amount of milk she drinks, or the fact that she doesn't drink it from a cup?

My 15mthold DS2 has 3 solid meals a day and still has 3-4 bottles of milk.

In the morning and evening he has 8oz milk and the other 2 'snack' milks are watered down 4oz milk and 4oz water.

He also drinks water in a cup at mealtimes but refuses to take the milk in a cup - I've given up the battle
I don't really think the bottle is a problem if they just drink from it and you take it straight away afterwards - I think its just bad for the teeth if they use it like a dummy.

thanks am not bothered about the milk itself it was really the bottle thing that was concerning me, but i think you are right she only has the bottle when shes actually drinking from it so it shouldn't hurt her teeth

My dd 16 moonths has 3 meals, one bf and 3 6oz bottles during the day. Started drinking out of trainer cups when with other toddlers doing likewise, but never her milk, will only take from her bottle. I am sure its pretty normal at this age.

My dd is 14m and will usually only take milk from a bottle although she happily drinks her water from a sippy cup. One thing that does seem to help is that for the daytime milk I've started watering it down a bit (so she doesn't get so full up from the milk and stick her nose up at mealtimes) and I've also switched to a teat that is more shaped like a spout. I bought them from Boots and they're kind of a flattened cone shape with just a hole in the top rather than the criss-cross that traditional teats have. She doesn't mind these and I'm hoping they will help the transition from bottles to cups in the daytime. It worked for her older sister.

Give her a drink in a carton with a straw. You hold the carton, and when she has the straw in her mouth you gently squeeze the carton to get the drink up the straw into her mouth. She'll soon get the hang of sucking on it.

Try taking the non-return valve out of the cup so that the drink dribbles out of the spout, that also helps to give her the idea to suck.

Another tnhing to try is to attach a spout to a disposable bottle in its holder (the Avent system of ebm storage bags, for example) and squeeze the bag to get the drink trhough the spout into her mouth.

good ideas am going shoppng 2moro so will see what i can get hold of and give it a go
