have just finished making fitted nappies for babe due in Mar... they look huge but they are meant to be from birth to 6 months. Reusables are not as easy to get here as they were in the UK - although they are online - easy to get - expensive.

I found a pattern online and made up 11 of them to go with some terry squares that I have and some small fitted ones that I had bought earlier.

Just used old towels and shirts we had lying around home - had osme prefolds so used them for the soaker pad and way I went.

Also managed to get some reusable squares to use for wipes.

[smug emoticon] they look pretty good even if I say so myself.

okay enough!!

Good for you, I'm seriously impressed.

Eidsvold,

Could you post the link for the patterns you used for your nappies? I found one:

www.ottobredesign.com

Is yours the same? My MIL has kindly offered to sew some nappies for her first grandchild due in April, and I'm trying to point her in the right direction. Thanks.

I found the pattern on www.ottobredesign.com was large on a newborn (particularly around the legs) and so I would recommend trying to size it down. I got much better results by taking a pattern from a 'commercial' nappy. Just stretch it out across the width and draw around and then the same down the length (I think I got help from dh for that bit). I made some very sucessful bimble like nappies that I actually managed to sell on once we'd finished with them.
Happy nappy sewing !!

Sorry eidsvold I've just read your post properly and have noticed that you find it difficult to get hold of reuseables !!

Thanks for the advice, Madolives. Will give it a go.
