How old was your DD/DS when you first let them play out without adult supervision?

I've just let DD go to a local park to play with a group of 6 friends for the first time. It's a short drive from our house but very close to most of the group. DD is 10, 11 in June.

No experience as my LO is fresh from the womb but my friend lets her daughter go into town on a weekend with her friends and she is a similar age.

My eldest is 11 in June - she started cycling/walking to the shop/post box from about 9. She now meets her friends in the shopping centre the odd time and has been to the cinema twice recently on her own with a friend.

My 8 year old plays out, I can usually see or hear them but sometimes not.
