DS is only 17 months so I think it's a little early. He's not really showing any signs of understanding what's going on. Except when naked after the bath he'll often grab his willy and then a few moments later crouch to wee and then point at the puddle impressed with himself! So I guess he's started to realise that it's something to do with him.

I'm expecting a DD next month and will probably not get a chance to worry about DS for a few months after... so what do I need to know. Should I buy a potty now and make it a little bit familiar? Or wait until we're actually going ahead with training? What kinds of pottys are best? DS is petite so the ones on loos are no good unles I get one that I've seen that has steps to it (£25) and folds to a normal potty too. Would one form the pound shop be as good?

Purely from personal experience I would say this is quite young. It took until two and a half for ds to grasp potty training.Yours may be different, though.I had a lot of pressure from in laws/parents to potty train early and tried when ds was 2 with no success. At 2.5 it was a different story.Good luck with no 2
