He has said if he doesn't get one he will cry . Preferably one that doesn't come with a girl rider - bit of a tall order maybe?

you can get it all from Julip including the male rider but it's quite expensive and also has quite small bits to it

have seen horse and stables here too but again male rider not so common!

Quootiepie · 03/01/2007 20:25

Julip I had those as a kid... Toy R Us usually have stables/horses... so does an online catalogue, ill go check it out... post a link if I find anything.

Amazon.com have got some - not sure how expensive they are as all in dollars but look nice.

quootie - you had Julips as well as a real horse ? Not sure I can talk to you any more

I started a Julip thread a while ago to see who else had them on a complete nostalgia trip because I was getting one for my 9 year old niece. I still have mine in my bedroom...

Quootiepie · 03/01/2007 20:46

I lost mine... took them on a trip, and forgot to take them home. My friends grandad built her a stable block and everything!

TooTickyDoves · 03/01/2007 20:49

There are some lovely wooden ones available.

tassis · 03/01/2007 20:50

elastamum · 03/01/2007 20:52

I bought some Julip for my niece. they were lovely!

Rhubarb · 03/01/2007 20:53

Bloody hell! I thought you were talking about a real horse for a minute there! I was getting all het up about the appropriateness of providing a real horse and stable for a 3yo boy!

whatkatydidntdo · 03/01/2007 21:01

my DS (when aged 4) fell in love with a beautiful set at a school xmas fayre, it was a quite large fold up stable and came with little tiny plastic brushes, shovels etc and the previous owners gave him a bag of horses too. No riders just horses and he is delighted with it. (only charged him £1 for the lot)

Sorry i know thats not any help to you just wanted to let you know that your DS isnt the only one.

I got a Playmobil set from Toys r Us for dd for Christmas (not in stock atm but other sets are)- might be a bit fiddly for 3 but the key bits should be ok.

julienetmum · 03/01/2007 21:55

I've just bought dd and ds Dora's pony place and got a free Diego horse and rider. He loves it and it is just the right age for ds (3 in Feb)

Labradora · 04/01/2007 10:03

Well, you could easily make a stable out of a cardboard box and paint it. Then you could buy a gorgeous Schleich pony from a good toy shop. That's what we did at Christmas. Or ELC has a lovely stable and rather odd ponies. BTW my youngest is also 3 in Feb!

anotherincognitovet · 04/01/2007 10:17

the Schleich range is lovely, always on ebay too. They do a wooden stable block which is nice and a man riding western style set.
