Childcare grant for the holidays too?

Hi
Is the childcare grant from student finance just during term time or holidays as well. My childminder wants me to pay throughout the year to secure his place.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Apparently it is if you are not in you final year (when I received it)

but it is only paid at the same time as other grants (1 payment in September, January and April)

Nothing paid April-September.

I think they expect you to budget for it??

Work out how much CCG (Child Care Grant) you are entitled to, usually not 100% of childcare costs anyway and maybe keep CCG in savings account.

This is what I did.

So yes it is supposed to be for the whole year, but not paid very spread out.

I would also check with Student Finance as I was at started university in 2011 and have graduated.

I received SAAS and was eligible for a lone parent bursary and childcare grant. Both were only paid September-June and had to be applied for every year.
