ISOfix FamilyFix question please?

Hi,

I have a Renault scenic with a compartment on the floor so Halfords initially said an ISOfix fitting was not suitable because the leg is on a fake floor/lid of compartment.

Has anyone had this issue? Could I remove the lid of the compartment and extend the leg to the base of the compartment so it is on the floor?

I've heard ISOfix fittings are safer then the normal seatbelt.

Anyone?

I've had terrible advice from highstreet shops regarding car seats. If you go online there should be a list of cars compatible with the car seat if you go on the car seat website.
