9 year old getting fussier

ARGH just had major tantrums from my 9 year old over eating a piece of chicken in breadcrumbs, exactly the same as that she has eaten approx a million times before. Surely they're supposed to get less fussy as they get older not more fussy? I will not let her get away with eating a less and less varied diet but it's ridiculous having this kind of battle over mealtimes that you'd expect from a toddler.

I refuse to constantly throw food away as I hate waste, and I can't do the theory of, "if you don't eat that you get nothing" because I'm really worried about how little she eats in general at the moment eg only ate a bite of her sandwich at lunch then still said she wasn't hungry at teatime.

Get them involved in cooking it helps them to take control of food.

Could she be being bullied for being 'fat' so intentionally eating less (kids can be mean so this could be happening even if she is slim).
