My poor little boy is 7 weeks old and having terrible tummy pains.
Hes been to the gp whos diganosed him with a mix of growing pains, reflux and constipation so put him on infacol and movicol (every other day)
Since then he seems to have gotten worse. Hes withering around in pain and cant sleep more than 20 mins before hes screaming again. The worst is when hes rigid with so much pain he cant even scream.
Ive tried it all. Massage, warm bubbly baths, leg rotations, tummy time and even done calpol to try and help but nothings working and its breaking my heart.
Anyone got any advice on what to do?

Long time lurker here. My son had the exact problem but is breastfed. He was put on lactolose which didnt seem to help and infant gaviscon which helps with his reflux. I noticed that everytime I drink cows milk he would have the most awful smelly poos which were loose and yellow and mushy as you describe. I have cut the cows milk dairy etc out and they are now formed. I am waiting for an allergy test for cmpi. The constipation issue has been resolved by him taking probiotic drops called biogaia. I buy them direct from their website. Did you have any antibiotics etc during pregnancy or has the baby? They could have imbalanced gut flora. The probiotics counteract this. Also maybe postpone vaccinations especially the rotavirus as his immune system is not 100% and that can give them diarrhoea. I wish someone had told me that as my son had a severe reaction to the second lot seizures etc within hours of them. Hope that this has helped you x

If you're worried keep going back to the Doctors or midwives, sounds like he's in a lot of pain.

I'm no medical professional, but Is his abdomen swollen or tender at all? If he shows signs of that, or blood/red mucus in stools I'd personally go straight to A&E. My brother had intussepted bowel when he was a baby and got very ill very quickly. Hopefully your son only has reflux, but it's worth knowing the red flag signs, as my mum didn't, and didn't take him for treatment as soon as she could have (he was fine in the end)

I'd also read up about rota virus vaccine - DD had reflux and it made it much worse for a week. Might be worth thinking about delaying it.

minty hes got a swollen tummy and doesnt like his usual belly rubs at times but not always. Nothing red in his nappies either, just a mushy stinky yellow mess!
