cradle cap question

So, my son's cradle cap is finally starting to get better after 2.5 months. The good news is the horrible crusts are falling off. The bad news is they are falling off with lumps of his hair Any advice how I can prevent him from getting bald? Using Dentinox shampoo and olive oil regularly already.. Many thanks!

Have you tried using both at once? Leave the oil on for a while first, rinse then the shampoo twice. My eldest is 3 years and 3 months and only now completely rid of cradle cap. We got really good at keeping it under control!

Thanks Rosenwyn! I didn't know it can stay for years! Did it bother your dc at all? My son didn't seem to notice it at all until last night when he was scratching his scalp all evening to the point it bled a bit! I thought it could be because we haven't washed his hair for 5 days but kept putting oil on it. But also maybe cradle cap can be itchy? He hasn't done it again though since the hair got washed. I'll definitely try both at once as you suggest. Hope your dc is rid of it for good now.

DD had it quite badly. I used dentinox for abut but in the end concluded that as it wasn't bothering her, I didn't really want to use chemicals uneccesarily. Didn't find oil did anything really. Anyway, all of a sudden it started to clear itself up but like you, came off in chunks with lumps of hair. But the hair grew back really quickly and much thicker - she didn't get any obvious bald spots.Despite my worries

Same thing happened to us - DS had a few bald patches, but new hair has grown in slowly. He looks a bit odd with long curly bits, short stubbly bits and some bald patches, but I'm sure it'll even out in the end

Topsy are you serious?! Omg! Maybe that's why he's scratching it. Don't understand why I've been told to use oil twice daily by the GP. Thing is they started coming off after I started with the oil so I thought it was helping. But then the itching started.. Like Highlove, I'm not a fan of chemicals in Dentinox so good to hear it'll clear off itself eventually.

Good to hear the hair grows back afterwards. Tindel, I had a bit of a giggle imagining my baby with hair like that in future (which undoubtedly will happen by the look of it!).
