My son is 18 months and weighs 28lbs. He is very long. Lots of his nappies are getting too small now including some meant to be birth to potty. His others are a size 2 and they are getting small too. Even though he knows what the potty is for and knows when he wants his nappy changed, he is know where near training. Need 3-4 more nappies but no idea where to start. Last time I bought his nappies I chose most of them because they were blue or had cars on!! Also his xl minki huggles are getting tight. Does anyone know if they shrink in which case I will buy 2 more for night, or is there a bigger size/better night nappy?

I'm in a similar position with my 18 month old - some of his shaped nappies and some wraps too are getting tight and he's not going to be toilet training for a while.

I now wish I got nothing but prefolds because the few I have are still going strong, they fit him perfectly well and they don't put a strain on the wraps. They are really cheap too.

So I'd say just get a half dozen of those (e.g. Junior Joy) to keep you going.

I have an easypeasy bumper and xl motherease rikki - it is really big and absorbent and fleece lined. Really impressed by the design, size and quality of the nappy.

I have gone back to using prefolds which I had originally put into storage as I hated them was my ds was younger however I've found that at the moment they are brilliant. He is also 18 months and has a very long body and has grown out of the rise of size 2 nappies. Haven't tried the junior joy brand yet, but am going to as we need to get some larger wraps and they seem very cheap. Also prefolds dry quite quickly on the radiator which is handy now it's too cold to dry outside.

My 17 month old is nearly 30lbs and I use wambamboos which have much longer tabs and a lower rise in the back so fit for much longer. I have the nippa ones so they are really adjustable for the leg and waist. I am sure they will fit him til potty trained. At night I use it with an extra booster as he drinks his milk before bed and so is a pretty heavy wetter.

I also use toddler terries (78cm ones) which dry quicker and are good when he wont be in them long.

Hope that helps.
