What car seat can I buy?

My baby is coming up 6 months old he is a big baby for his age 22pounds possibly could of gained some more and I need a new carseat for him but iv been told he shouldnt face forward till hes nine months old but for his weight he can so im stuck what could I buy due to his Weight and age?

He's not too heavy for his current seat if it is the one that does until 29lbs/13kg which most of them are

Look at an extended rear facing seat. Most last until 4+ years and 18-25kg

You can get seats that rear face for much longer too. Some rear face until around age 4. Your baby is far too young to forward face

It lasts to 29lb but he crys all the time and looks so squished he cant bare being in the seat for longer than five minutes and thank you didnt know you could buy those x

We moved DS into a Britax first class plus car seat at about 7/8 months. He was too big for the infant carrier type but didn't want to be buying multiple stage car seats!

It can be used from newborn to about 4 years and can be put in the rear facing position until a certain point then it turns around. I think we turned the seat to forward facing when he was about 14 months ish!

I had a similar situation when my DS was about that age. Technically still fit in the seat but used to hate being in it. I got a joie erf one. He still rear faces now in it at 19mo.

We have a Brittany dualfix. It does forwards and backwards and swivels which is so so helpful - and it's ok from birth to 4 years I think. It's not cheap but it's really good. Also - halfords price match to any uk online store so we saved £40-£50.
