Losing the nappies at night time... 3 year old

My son potty 'trained' very easily, just as he turned 2. He's been in pants ever since. But we kept him in nappies, now pull ups, at night as he seemed too young. At about 2.5 we had a run of a few nights of dry nappies, a few times in a row, but still held off. In the past couple of months we've tried to put him to bed without a nappy only for him to wet the bed every time. We did a 'dream' wee on the potty at our bedtime as part of that but he'd still wet through in the night. So he's back in pull ups that are often wet in the morning. Any advice please? Just wait longer?

Yup, just wait. It'll happen when it happens

Thanks. The hormone thing sounds familiar.
