He screams and screams! I thought babies were supposed to love the bath -but he definitely doesn't. What are we doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong! Some babies just don't like baths.

Mine did better in one of those Tummy Tub bucket baths at that age - worth a shot?

ftmsoon · 13/01/2016 07:09

Lots of babies hate being naked and wet and at arms length from mummy or daddy. Try again when he's a bit older, or just push on through the tears. Neither is wrong in any way.

Or just top and tail him and clean his wrinkly , unless there's been a major incident! He'll love a bath one day soon, some of them hate getting naked.

Sympathies, mine pretty much heated the bath until 5 or 6 months, and we tried everything. It's not you doing anything wrong!

Hated! Heated would be a good skill.

Mine was the same - in the end I got in with her in the big bath and fed her in there but my DH also took her in sometimes. She was fine after that.

poocatcherchampion · 13/01/2016 07:19

Either get in with, plonk in the basin or just don't bother. My 12wo has had maybe 5 baths so far - he loves them too!

Hopelass · 13/01/2016 07:22

DS hated baths until he could sit up so before that DH used to get in the shower and I'd hand DS to him and vice versa when getting out. DS loved the shower and still has one with daddy now and again. He's 2 now.

Mine wouldn't go in alone happily. Dh or I would have a bath and take them in with us, or we just bathed in the sink or washed with a cloth and bowl.
