Found what I thought were headline in my 8yo daughter's hair last night. But no Nits (eggs..). What's stranger is that these lice had wings?! I didn't know headline had wings & when I googled it appears that don't. She hasn't had an itchy head & no rash on the nape of her neck which both my daughters have had before when they've had lice. I thought that maybe the lice were at a more mature stage of their life cycle then they'd ever got to in her hair before, which is why they may look different. Now I'm doubting that they are lice. What on earth else could they be? I've got Hedrin, but not sure whether to use it, I combed about 10-15 of the little buggers out last night-until I couldn't find any more. Another thing I found strange was that they were grouped mainly on the Crown of her head-usually they prefer the hairline don't they? Help!!!!

Head lice don't have wings. How big were they?

I'd get it checked, by a pharmacist or a doctor. Lice do not fly. If there are quite a few it could be something unpleasant. Get it checked to be safe.

Not head lice, can you take a photo of one and go o pharmacy?

Thx All.....checked again in better light. It turns out that they were headlice. Just bigger than I'd ever seen, so the dark centres were surrounded by the translucent backs & heads IYSWIM. It made them look longer & like they had folded up wings. Sorted for now the goodness...
